Ascot Ladies Day 2011
Headline grabbing hats
Myself and six friends attended this years Royal Ascot Ladies day.
Inspired by the Victorian fashion for wearing birds on hats and the popularity of my magpie hat last year we all chose to wear bird hats. Each friend chose which type of bird they would like their hat to be based on and I set to work on the creations.
It took me eight days of solid work to complete the hats in time for the big day. Grabbing headlines in national newspapers and interviews for television and radio (including sky news) certainly made all the hard work worth it!
The six bird hats will soon be added to my new hire collection.
